inevitable nuclear war
I hate to sound negative, but I see the world heading towards an inevitable nuclear war over oil. It'll most likely be between the U.S. and either Russia or China.

Not Iran. We can wipe out Iran and take their oil without nuclear weapons.

No U.S. president will sit around and do nothing when oil hits $500 a barrel and gasoline cost $20 a gallon and there are food riots on the streets. People will demand that we do something.

And blaming China and India's big population and their taking of "our" oil from the middle east is the only way out.

I think at some point, the U.S. will have to find some excuse to engage Pakistan and India in a nuclear war so that they wipe each other out. And we'll step in and wipe out China.

Decreasing world population by 3 billion people over the course of a few weeks is the only way that we can preserve our american way of life.

It's either nuclear war or some biological agent that we introduce to China and India to wipe out their large populations.

RE: inevitable nuclear war
Hi orwell1984- Oh really?- what sensible person would want to "preserve our way of life"? It's un-sustainable and would end anyway. That kind of thinking got us into this mess. War mongers should do their own fighting -eh?

China will start it.
Actually I see it the other way around. I can see the US getting hit hard with increased energy costs and a financial crisis taking root, plunging the US into chaos and rioting. Imagine a cold winter and natural gas shortage starts. People freezing to death, companies forced to shut down to conserve, people out of work, mortgages not paid, etc (today writ large). Once the US become impotent due to internal chaos, China will make its move to secure more oil. Guess who has the largest reserve now? Canada's tar sands. Would not surpise me if China invades Canada to secure the tar sands for themselves.
